Motivation is one of the 10 traits that is tested for on the CASPer test. However many applications do not know how to illustrate this trait effectively on the CASPer test.
motivation refers to the driving force or energy that propels an individual towards taking action, setting goals, and achieving them. It is a combination of internal and external factors that inspire and encourage individuals to work towards their goals and accomplish them.
Motivation can be categorized into two types: intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation refers to the desire to engage in an activity for its own sake because it is personally rewarding and enjoyable. Extrinsic motivation, on the other hand, refers to the drive to engage in an activity because of external rewards or pressures, such as money, praise, or competition. In the context of the Casper test, motivation is assessed as part of the evaluation of a candidate's level of commitment, dedication, and drive.
In order to illustrate more motivation in your Casper responses, there are a few strategies you can use.
1)Show enthusiasm and passion
Let your passion shine through by expressing genuine excitement for the topic at hand. For example, instead of saying "I have some experience in marketing," say "I am incredibly passionate about marketing and have been honing my skills for several years."
Here are some words that can help you:
Thrilled, Excited, Delighted, Ecstatic, Overjoyed
Exhilarated, Euphoric, Thrilled, Passionate, Enthusiastic, Fascinated, Amazed
2)Use emotional language
Use emotional language to convey a sense of passion and motivation, using words that evoke strong feelings and emotions.
Example: "My heart swells with pride and gratitude whenever I think about the opportunities that my education has afforded me, and I'm driven to give back to others who may not have had the same advantages."
3)Use persuasive language
Use persuasive language to convey a sense of conviction and passion, making a strong case for your beliefs and values.
Example: "I firmly believe that we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities, and I've dedicated my life to creating positive change through volunteerism and activism."
4)Use strong action words
Use words that demonstrate action and initiative, such as "launched," "created," or "led." For example, instead of saying "I helped organize the event," say "I spearheaded the planning and execution of the event, taking charge of responsibilities like securing a venue and coordinating with vendors."
5)Demonstrate a growth mindset
A growth mindset is the belief that one's abilities can be developed through hard work and dedication. This is an important trait for motivated individuals, so it's worth demonstrating in your Casper responses.
6)Use real-life personal examples if possible
Use real-life examples to demonstrate your motivation and commitment to a cause. For example, instead of saying "I care about the environment," say "I'm incredibly motivated to make a difference in the environment. Last year, I organized a local cleanup initiative that removed over 200 pounds of trash from our local beach."
7)Don’t Forget to Be authentic
Write from the heart and be true to yourself. Don't try to force enthusiasm or passion where it doesn't exist as doing so can backfire.
By using some of these tips appropriately, you can allow your motivation to shine through in your CASPer responses. 4th quartile CASPer scorers use these tactics all the time which enables them to stand out on the CASPer Test and score higher compared to other students. Getting a mediocre score negatively impacts your chances of getting accepted into your dream school.
